Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Day 2: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

We depart from Marrakech city on Day 2 to head towards the giant Atlas mountains. We reach the high point of Tizi N’Tichka where you see the entire world below you. Our next destination is the historical Ait Ben Haddou, which is an ancient mud village. This is the highlight of all our tours in Morocco Holidays.

Such orange walls have been the set of many well-known movies including Gladiator. You can wander through the narrow streets at the top with a wonderful view. Later, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa. We spend the night in a comfy hotel close by to recharge after a day of mountain adventure.

Day 3: Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dades – Todra Gorges

The third day starts with a drive in the Valley of Roses. You will see the green gardens and sweet-smelling flowers used to make perfumes. Then we drive to the Dades Gorges to view the weirdly shaped rock formations nicknamed “monkey fingers.” This is one of the favorite places in most Marrakech Desert Tours.

We come to the immense Todra Gorges with its high slender walls of rock. You can walk between the giant mountains and feel the fresh breeze along the cold river. Day 4: Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga (Sahara Desert & Camel Ride)

Today is the most thrilling day as we arrive in the Sahara! First, we will visit Erfoud and see fossils that are millions of years old. Then we arrive in Merzouga and the enormous orange dunes of Erg Chebbi come into view. This is the essence of our Morocco Desert Trips and a dream for every traveler.

On arrival, you will board a camel for a leisurely and fun ride into the dunes. During your Morocco Desert Trip, you will see the sunset wash the sand in gold. You bed down in a luxury desert tent with a cushy bed tonight. You will hear drum music by the fire and see millions of stars.

Day 5: Merzouga – Khamlia – Draa Valley

Wake up very early to see the sunrise. The colors vary from purple to orange swiftly, and the sight is magnificent. After a big breakfast, we visit the desert area and head to Khamlia village to watch the Gnawa musicians. This tour teaches you about the people, culture, and music of the desert.

After the music, we drive towards the Draa Valley, the longest valley of Morocco. You will see thousands of palm trees and old castles during the drive along the river. This is a must-see as the landscape changes significantly. We spend the night in a traditional Kasbah where you can enjoy the calm of the night.

Day 6: Draa Valley – Rissani – Ouarzazate

On the 6th day, we head back toward the mountains. We pass through Rissani, where there is a very old and famous market. The trip provides a beautiful stark contrast between the desert and the green valleys. This is a crucial part of your Morocco Holidays tours adventure.

We eventually return to Ouarzazate to visit the magnificent Taourirt Kasbah. This gives you a final opportunity to visit the film city before we head back to Marrakech tomorrow. As it’s the last full day, we will treat you to a special dinner to discuss your favorite memories from the Sahara.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

On the last day, we traverse the High Atlas Mountains one last time and stop for any missed photos. You can pick up last-minute souvenirs like argan oil or leather bags in the markets. That gorgeous drive is precisely why Marrakech tours are favorites among all visitors.
