12 Days Tour from Marrakech

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Upon your arrival at the airport, the super 12 Days Tour from Marrakech begins. You will be welcomed with a big smile by our friendly driver from Top Holidays Morocco. You can drop off your bags and start your morocco marrakech holiday strolling through the vivid souks. The pungent spices and vibrant colors will bring a lot of cheer to you. You can go to the big square in the evening where magicians and musicians perform under the sky.

Day 2: Private Guided Tour of Marrakech (Palaces, Gardens & Medina)

Your tour continues on day two as a local guide takes you to see the beautiful palaces. You’ll get a glimpse of how kings used to live at the Bahia Palace and old Saadian Tombs. You can then walk through the serene Majorelle Garden, known for its vividly painted blue structures. We also visit the Ben Youssef Madrasa, an old school known for its beautiful tile work. We finish the day with fresh orange juice in the square.

Day 3: Marrakech to Ouarzazate via Atlas Mountains & Ait Ben Haddou

On day three, we set off toward the huge Atlas Mountains. We drive up to the Tizi N’Tichka pass where you see small Berber villages below. You will snap hundreds of pictures of the snowy peaks. Then we head to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a place where many movies like Gladiator were filmed. We then drive to Ouarzazate, also known as the Hollywood of Africa, and stay in a cozy hotel nearby.

Day 4:  Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dades & Todra Gorges

On the fourth day, we wander through the beautiful Valley of Roses. You’ll see green gardens and smell the sweet flowers used for perfumes and rose water. We then head to the Dades Gorges, where the rocks resemble giant fingers. Moving on to the Todra Gorges, vertical walls of rock soar upwards. You can meander along the cold river and watch locals with their animals. We sleep in an old-fashioned hotel close to the large cliffs.

Day 5 : Todra – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert (Camel ride & camp)

Today is by far the most exciting day—we finally hit the desert! First, we visit Erfoud to see fossils dating back millions of years. Then we arrive at Merzouga where the massive orange dunes of Erg Chebbi come into view. In the afternoon, you will hop on a temperate camel for a gentle ride into the sand to watch the sunset. Tonight, you spend the night in a luxury tent with a real bed and a drum party by the fire.

Day 6 : 4×4 Desert Excursion & Nomad Experience (Merzouga)

Wake up early to witness the sunrise as the sand transitions from purple to orange. After breakfast, we use a 4×4 vehicle to navigate the deep desert and meet nomadic families. We also stop in the village of Khamlia to hear Gnawa musicians and their traditional drums. This day is full of serenity and culture. We spend another night at the camp to savor the silence.

Day 7 : Merzouga to Fes via Ziz Valley, Azrou & Ifrane

We leave the desert behind and head back north. We drive through the Ziz Valley, a territory of tens of thousands of palm trees. Next, we cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and visit the cedar forest where wild monkeys live. We also visit Ifrane, a town that resembles Switzerland. Finally, we reach Fes, one of the oldest and largest cities on the planet. You will stay in a stunning Riad within the old city walls.

Day 8 : Private Guided Tour of Fes

A local guide walks you through the narrow streets of the Fes Medina. You will see the ancient university, the oldest in the world, and the unique leather dye industry. You will also see pottery workshops where artists craft plates by hand. The Medina has thousands of hidden alleyways and tiny shops. We end the day with a traditional dinner in Fes style.

Day 9 : Fes to Chefchaouen (Blue City)

The search for the famous blue city begins on day nine of your tour. We pass the green Rif Mountains until we reach Chefchaouen. Every house, door, and street is painted in tones of bright and peaceful blue. You can stroll through the placid streets and sit in the main square for mint tea. We spend the night in a traditional blue house.

Day 10 : Chefchaouen – Rabat – Casablanca

On the 10th day, we drive from the mountains to the Atlantic coast. We go to Rabat, the capital city, to visit the old tower and the King’s palace. Next, we move on to Casablanca, the largest city in the country. You will see the giant Hassan II Mosque located right on the edge of the blue sea. We spend the night in a lovely hotel near the beach.

Day 11 : Casablanca to Marrakech

We head back towards the red city. You can admire the green plains and small farms as we go on the highway. This is the last circle of your big Morocco Holiday trip. When we get there, you can visit the markets one final time for gifts like leather handbags or silver jewelry. We enjoy a special farewell dinner tonight to share our favorite stories.

Day 12: Departing and Flying Home

Today is the final day. After a last breakfast and some final pictures, our driver from Top Holidays Morocco will transport you to the airport. We hope you enjoyed the Sahara magic. We wish you a safe trip home!
